Does my broken iPhone have value?

If you have had the unpleasant experience of breaking a cell phone — or having one broken for you — you have probably considered the wreckage a useless object ready for the next garbage pickup. You’d like a genie to turn a broken iPhone into a new phone hot off the factory floor, but that’s not going to happen. At least, it won’t happen magically. There are ways to turn a broken iPhone into cash.

First of all, it’s useful to consider the many reasons to avoid getting rid of unwanted or unusable electronics. While it’s clear that technology which has been superseded won’t get the job done for your business or personal needs, that doesn’t mean it won’t have a use. Remember, humans are still involved in the technology process, no matter how far removed we seem sometimes. In other words, the same people who are making these technologically superior phones have the ability to fix them. One of the reasons new phones are superior is the fact that there is potential for repair.

All over the world, there are people who consider the technology you would call “dated” to work just fine and have innumerable benefits. What that means is that broken materials have value. The same types of companies that can help make a broken iPhone 2G 3G a 3GS phone for you can handle computers and other valuable equipment. Don’t send your electronics to the trash until you have consulted with one of these companies which may be ready to pay cash for them.

Of course, as with most decisions one must make these days, the environment has to be considered along with the almighty dollar. Every time a pile of plastic and metal gets sent to the landfills, a little less space exists on our planet. Computer and cell phone parts live virtually forever. If you need another reason to sell a broken iPhone model, the environment should be one of the most compelling among them. Electronics should never be hurled into the trash. Remember, all of these instruments of technology are tools which make our lives easier, not something which saves our lives. Surely, there are innumerable ways in which mankind has benefited from technology, but better cell phones for our children is not one of them.

With certain older cell models, the idea that you can pick up some money through their sales is not far-fetched. In that case, you can do your part in making the environment a little less vulnerable by recycling. However, anyone who wants to make a broken iPhone model into cash will get a head start by selling the broken phone to a recycling company or buy back program such as Rapid iPhone Cash. While it may seem worthless, plenty of customers are shopping for used or refurbished iPhones every day and that is why we buy the hell out of them.

Don’t think your broken iPhone is worthless. Check out http://www.rapidiphonecash.com/ and see how selling it can be a down payment on your new 3GS model.

Pictures of the new iPhone 6

iPhone 6 Photos

For some reason, a concept design for Apple’s next-generation iPhone 6 that was created back in August by designer Nikola Cirkovic made the rounds once again on several tech blogs last week. That has apparently prompted several others to come forth with their various iPhone 6 concept designs, and what is undoubtedly one of the sleekest (and most unlikely) comes from French blog Nowhereelse.fr and designer Martin Hajek. The design essentially looks like an iPad mini or iPad Air scaled down to iPhone size with a larger display that is borderless on its sides. It’s pretty awesome, albeit technically impossible at this point and extremely illogical considering it omits Apple’s Touch ID fingerprint scanner.

The odds of Apple ditching the scanner technology it spent more than $350 million to acquire after one product cycle are exactly nil, and Nowhereelse.fr notes that the mockup was made before Apple’s iPhone 5s was released. We’re not sure why Hajek didn’t update his design before releasing another round of images, this time in gold, but it certainly gives us some nice eye candy, if nothing else.

Also of note, this iPhone 6 concept doesn’t accommodate any cellular antennas.

Apple’s next-generation iPhone 6 could certainly feature some design elements that resemble this concept — there’s plenty of chatter about a nearly border less display, for example — but it definitely won’t look exactly like Hajek’s creation. The good news, though, is that the latest rumors suggest the iPhone 6 will feature a full HD 1080p display that measures about 5 inches diagonally so it should pretty much look like the iPhone 5s, but larger like the Samsung Galaxy S4.

We will keep you updated with iPhone 6s news as much as we can. Here are a few more images of this iPhone 6 concept below.

iPhone 6 rumors

One of the biggest bits of speculation around the iPhone 6 is that it will feature a larger screen, and now word has surfaced Apple is actively testing such a spec’d phone. It would compare in size to the Samsung Galaxy 4s.

According to a tip to C Technology (Google translation), Apple is putting a phone prototype with a 4.9-inch screen through the paces. There’s nothing else to the report, and we recommend taking it with shots of salt, but the tip falls neatly in line with other iPhone 6 screen size rumors.

iPhone5HandsOn-23-578-80

Reports have Apple working on next-gen phones with 4.7- and 5.5-inch displays, and last month we heard a 5-inch screen would land on a new iPhone in September 2014.

Clearly nothing is confirmed, but with all the smoke that’s rising, it seems highly likely Apple is at least toying with the idea of bumping up its display size with the iPhone 5s’ follow-up.

What is the release date for the iPhone 6?

iPhone 6 release date

The iPhone 6 release date will be in 2014. It will follow the iPhone 5s which which has alreadybeen released of course.

Jefferies analyst Peter Misek says that there will be a June 2014 release for the iPhone 6. We reckon it will be later than that, around a year after the 5s. Citi’s Glen Yeung also believes that we won’t see an iPhone 6 until 2014, although that’s no big leap.

Interestingly, in May 2013 Stuff reported it received a photo of the till system at a Vodafone UK store (which it has since removed along with the reference to Vodafone), with ‘4G iPhone 6’ listed.

So could we see both an iPhone 5s and iPhone 6 in quick succession? It looks like we will not.

It’s been suggested that there could even be three size variants of the new iPhone – check out these mocked up images by artist Peter Zigich. He calls the handsets iPhone 6 Mini, iPhone 6 & iPhone 6 XL (these look rather like the iPhone 5C variant though). However, as ZDNet rightly points out, different size variants aren’t exactly easy to just magic out of thin air.

iPhone Unlocking

Get your iPhone unlocked no matter what model you have using these few simple steps.

1. Please make sure that you are running the latest version of iTunes software on your computer. You can check it at http://www.apple.com/itunes/download

The next 2 steps are optional to unlock your iPhone, but these 2 steps will make sure that your iPhone is running the latest operating system software. If you do not have the original carrier SIM card or do not wish to update your firmware, please go to step 4.

2. If you have the SIM card from your original network (the network your iPhone is currently locked to), insert it. Connect your iPhone to your computer using the Dock Connector to USB cable provided with your iPhone.

3. Update your iPhone’s software in iTunes (It’s running the latest iPhone Operating System or iOS).

4. Insert a SIM card from a new service provider into your iPhone. It doesn’t have to be a SIM card from the network you wish to unlock – it can be any valid SIM card from ANY network provider (GSM SIM CARDS ONLY). Verizon & Sprint are not GSM SIM CARDS.

5. By inserting new SIM card, connect your iPhone to your computer and wait for iTunes to detect your phone.

6. Once it’s been detected, disconnect the iPhone from your computer and wait for 20 seconds or so.

7. Reconnect your iPhone to your computer and wait for iTunes to detect it again.

8. Once your iPhone is detected for 2nd time, the process is completed and your iPhone will be unlocked. After searching for few seconds, you’ll see your new carrier logo appear in the top left hand corner on the screen of your iPhone’s. This unlock is permanent and you can update your iPhone’s firmware at anytime.

If you wish to see the unlock screen below within iTunes to confirm this is an official unlock, simply perform a restore within iTunes and once your iPhone is restored you will be presented with the message“Congratulation’s, your iPhone has been unlocked” once the restore has completed.

If for any reason these steps do not work, then what you need to do is purchase a Factory Unlock from a company who offers the service, such as Rapid iPhone Cash. Get yours today, here.

Big time scam. Run from these guys, don’t walk

This place is a complete hoax. They may have worked in the past but they are not doing anything now. I signed up for unlocking of 2 iPhones with them 2 weeks ago. The site just says processing. They don’t have a support number to call, they are not responding to my repeated emails, and they are completely MIA. I now have to go through the process of disputing my charges with PayPal. Another hassle I have to go through because these guys. Buyer beware.

Terrible Service !!

Back then this company had awesome reviews but my experience as of lately has been terrible . The first time I placed an order they had me waiting for at least ten days then told me that my unlock failed and I notice a spike in the price . So I placed another order and my order never made it past the processing phase and that was when the price was at 35 dollars for 3-5 days . Now it’s at 140 for 20 days …. This is the only website that says that amount for 20 days . And the support team never replies to he messages …… Just terrible …

I bought an unlock on October 23 and still no word of it getting unlocked. I’ve sent emails and no response. This service is terrible. Would not recommend.

Backordered and still nothing.

I placed an order on the 24th, after which I got a confirmation email saying that my order was processing. Three days later my status changed to “backordered” and it said that it might take up to ten days to be finished. Now it has gone back to “processing” and still, three days later, nothing has happened. I have sent one email and one online support form. No reply. I’m not sure what to do to get a refund.

Apple stops iPhone 5C production

NEW DELHI: Here’s more evidence that Apple’s budget phone bet may not have exactly paid. According to a report, the company is reportedly completely stopping the production of iPhone 5Cat Foxconn’s factory.

The report on Korean technology website DigiTimes says that Foxconn will stop manufacturing iPhone 5C at its factory in Zhengzhou, northern China, citing industry sources. This plant will now be used for manufacturing iPhone 5S, which has been in short supply since the two models launched.

Apple assembler Pegatron recently reported a lower-than-expected third-quarter net profit of $84.29 million as order cutbacks for the cheaper iPhone 5C hurt the Taipei-based contract manufacturer’s bottom line.

Initially, 70% of iPhone 5C manufacturing was contracted to Pegatron, while Foxconn was given the rest of the share. However, Apple reduced the iPhone 5C volumes at Pegatron by 20% and Foxconn by 30%, according to the report.

Apple has seen its best iPhone launch this year, even though iPhone 5S has been responsible for the bulk of sales. While the higher priced model has been a huge hit, iPhone 5C has not seen much traction.

Even in India, consumers purchased iPhone 5C on the first weekend only because the iPhone 5S was sold out. Apple is reportedly planning to announce a buyback plan for the iPhone 5C and iPhone 4S, much like it did for iPhone 4 earlier this year.
